The Lot is basically a parking lot where Johnny sometimes sleeps when he doesn't want to go home to witness his parents fighting. In the lot Johnny talks to Pony about how he wishes he could go to a place where there were no Greasers or Socs, no fights, just plain, ordinary people. Johnny and Ponyboy fall asleep there and wake up at 2 AM.

The lot is a wide, open field where the Curtis Gang play football and hang out. It's often a site for rumbles and fist fights, and the main rumble took place there. This is also where they found Johnny after he got beat up by the Socs.
