Tulsa is a town in Oklahoma and the setting for S.E Hinton's book The Outsiders. Ponyboy and most of the Greasers make their homes on the East side of town (North side in the movie). There is a fictional drive-in, and two drive ins that are notorious for Greaser territory. The Socs live on the West side (South in the movie), and the only reason for crossing over into Greaser territory was to start a rumble, or jump somebody if they're really bored.
